Our Heroes

Summer Adams

Summer's husband John was severely wounded in Iraq. He suffers from TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) which causes headaches, life-term vertigo and short-term memory loss. Summer sat by his beside for months while he recovered at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. As a result, she left her job and had to leave their two young children with her mother during his recovery. Her story represents the thousands of military spouses who not only struggle emotionally with their loved one's injuries but financially as well.

Through intensive rehabilitation and continuous physical therapy, and not to mention Summer's support, John has made huge strides in his recovery. Summer is an excellent speaker and wonderful role model for families traveling the Road to Recovery.
