Your Money Makes a Difference

2006 Financial Statement (PDF)
2006 IRS 990 (PDF)

Owing to the generosity of individual and corporate donors throughout the year, the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes was able to grow its programs and provide direct financial support and services to severely wounded veterans and their families.

In addition, donor generosity enabled the Coalition to invest in the critical task of building public awareness. Few Americans know and understand the serious challenges (physical, financial and mental) that so many of today’s returning service members face, the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes will continue to make raising public awareness of their plight a top priority in the years ahead.

2006 Achievements: Overview by the Numbers
  • $1.43 million: Allocated to support the needs of disabled American veterans and their families
  • 1,707: Wounded soldiers and families served by the Coalition (6,247 since 2004)
  • 65: Outings, events, concerts and parties organized to celebrate and thank wounded American heroes and their families
  • 1,500,000: EZ Score Cards distributed to wounded veterans in military medical facilities and to active-duty service members overseas
  • 1,500+: E-learning courses now available through the Wounded Hero Career Network
  • 613: $500 gift checks provided to disabled American veterans and their families last holiday season
  • 300+ million: Impressions through print stories, television stories and radio interviews that created greater public awareness and increased participation in the CSAH’s assistance programs. These impressions were made possible through gift-in-kind contributions that valued nearly $10 million.

Note: Donated to us were 1,500,000 EZ Score cards that were disbursed to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and the USO in 2006. This was reported as a gift in kind. The value for each card is $12.50 wholesale and retail $25.00. These numbers were provided by the manufacturer. We used the $12.50 as the financial figure for the purpose of reporting in the audit for 2006. We have received written confirmation and thank you notes from all the branches mentioned and the USO for the distribution of these cards to our brave troops.

i.e., these cards provided access to college and professional sports scores.
